Jharkhand Council of Educational Research and Training (JCERT), in coordination with the state education authorities, has released the official notification for the Jharkhand CM Merit Scholarship 2026 (CMMSS). This CMMSS scholarship scheme aims to support meritorious students studying in Class 9 to Class 12 across Jharkhand.

Under this scheme, selected students will receive ₹12,000 per year as financial assistance to continue their education. The application process is being conducted online, and eligible candidates can apply within the given timeline.

Candidates are advised to complete the application process before the last date to avoid last-minute issues.

Features of CMMSS

  • Every year, 5,000 students are selected through a competitive examination.
  • Maximum 400 students per district will be selected.
  • Selected students receive ₹12,000 annually from Class 9 to Class 12.
  • Students must secure at least 60% marks annually (Class 9 to 11) to continue receiving the scholarship.
  • Students can take admission in any recognised school, including CBSE, ICSE, or state boards.
  • 30% seats are reserved for girls.

Scholarship Distribution Rules

Students studying in non-residential schools will receive the full scholarship amount.

Students admitted to certain residential government schools (like Akanksha) may receive 50% of the scholarship amount.

Eligibility Criteria for CMMSS 2026

Applicants must fulfil the following eligibility conditions:

  • Must be studying in Class 8 at the time of application.
  • Must be enrolled in:
    • Government
    • Government-aided
    • Model
    • Project
    • Minority
    • Recognised private schools
  • Must have secured minimum 55% marks in Class 7.
  • There is no income limit for applying.

The scholarship selection will be based on a competitive examination conducted in two sections.
